Mem Test86 is a third party program that scans and checks the integrity of your computer’s RAM. Simply download, install, and run the application. This is a great application to use even if you have already exhausted all your Windows Tools.

Check Disk Scan

The Check Disk tool comes with every windows installation. This is a free tool that you can run whenever you think there is an issue with your computer. Simply put, it will verify all your system files and fix any errors that it finds.

To find your Check Disk tool, click on your start button and type in my computer or this pc in the search bar. Click on the application and right click on your disk drive and select properties. Find the tools tab and click on the check disk button to start the scan.

Replace Your RAM

If all else fails, you will need to physically replace your RAM stick or sticks on your computers motherboard. A quick youtube search for a tutorial on how to change out your RAM. If you are not comfortable with doing so, you will need to contact your computers manufacturer or a third party pc repair company.

Does Ram Affect External Monitor?

Your computer’s RAM does not affect your external monitor in anyway other than maybe causing a black screen. Your computer monitor is plugged directly into your graphics processor which then gives picture to your monitor.

If there are any issues with your graphics card, you may see artifacts or lines across your screen, a black screen, or other symptoms of a faulty graphics processing unit.

A faulty power supply can cause a number of problems. From your computer not turning on, to a blank screen, a power supply is responsible for powering everything in your computer including the graphics card. If your graphics card or motherboard does not get enough power to start, your screen will be black.

Faulty Monitor

A faulty monitor is another reason why you will not have a display. Be sure to check that your monitor is plugged in correctly and is getting enough power. Check the power light to see if it is powered on. If the monitor has no signs of power, then it could indeed be a faulty monitor.
